The Farne Islands

Another beautiful place to visit is the Farnes which is way oop north. We went there on the first weekend of July with 11 members of the club. It was superb!

The Farnes are 35 miles north of Newcastle, 5-6 hour drive from London. However it is well worth it for the beautiful scenery, the extremely friendly people, and the excellent beer.

We were aboard the Farne Diver, with Lee Hall as our Skipper – a non-diver who went on a months holiday to Australia over the winter! The mixed levels of experience on the boat was perfect for the gentle diving in the Farnes – the sole purpose is of course to see SEALS and these lovely brown eyed creatures are so friendly, they bite your fins!
